Need Some Inspiration?

As we wrap up the last days of our school year, it helps me to keep things in perspective so I wanted to share the following video clip of one of my favorite educators, the late Rita Pierson. If you’ve seen Rita Pierson’s TedTalk before, watch it again to be re-inspired.

If you haven’t seen it, click on it right now to remind yourself why you are an educator.

This week I have the privilege of presenting at a morning session for teachers and school leaders at a local college on the topic “Understanding Your Purpose”.

Although the title sounds pretty weighty, it’s one I like to visit over and over again. After twenty years as an educator, I keep learning that my responsibilities are only meaningful when I remember the people I’m serving are more important than the projects I’m trying to complete.

Don’t forget to take every opportunity to re-charge your batteries for the remaining days ahead–even if it’s just taking a minute to watch Rita’s TedTalk. I hope you have a fantastic end-of-the year, and keep doing work that matters!
